To Those in Alaska and anywhere where it is cold, icy and dark...my apologies.  I know that you are in Sendak's "Night Kitchen" right now.  It's about 65 degrees here and sunny. I am relatively new to Mudflats but find it a different change of pace from many of the other forums, message boards, blogs...it's a community and that's nice.

Right now I am multitasking...working on building a new family  business in these "wonderful" economic times...a (thank you George Bush, Dick Cheney et. al) as well as working with my son,  who is a talented writer (caught in the crush of journalism's downturn) , to market his website Walkabout Jones.  What I like about Mudflats is that it is smart, well written, has a definite point of view and the fact that it has created a community.  It is what Walkabout Jones aspires to be, so hopefully the web will have smart places for intelligent people to read and talk about what is going on in the world.  I look forward to meeting and talking with other mudflatters about the world and all its insanity.

Ozgurl....welcome!

Have you taken a look at our States/Countries list?  We have quite a few members from both California and Australia.

We're having a live chat on Wednesday, 12/10 at 9:00 PM EST...all about the secrets of blogging.  Perhaps your son might like to join us?

I'm looking forward to meeting you on Sunday at our SoCal Mudmeet....
