I was having technical difficulties with the blog and posting. The phone was definitely working, though. (Now I am going to Park City on Wed, so I was scrambling today, getting that organized with flights and meeting people there.) No sandals that day!

CalifPat, my hat is off to you for the PhD in being a mom. When I got in the car to head home, I called my parents to tell them what fun I had and to thank them. What an important job motherhood is! And your kids went to school--good for all of you! It was great to meet you both.

And that banana dessert...wow! I told my mom about that, too!

Well, you did it!  You just about made me fall right out of my chair!

I am speechless, and don't even know how to begin to thank you for the Christmas present I discovered in my account today!  I confess, I started getting a little teary when I read your accounts and looked at the latest beautiful set of Mudstock photos.  And then again when I got your gift.

It's been so amazing to be a part of this community, and to feel as though Mudflats has been a part of bringing so many good people together, on the web and now in the real world.  You are an amazing group.

Hugs to all, and thank you again.  I hope this post reaches all who were there!

I have discovered that when you use a smiley, if you don't leave a space after it, it will not work. I am going to add a space to your post as quoted above to see if it helps. ... And it does!

Hi AKM, well one thing we never want you to be is speachless! It was amazing to actually get to meet some of the people who are a part of this amazing community. I am with Icy - next meeting is all of California!

AKM, in my new title kindly bestowed by Fawnskin, I would be grateful if you would repost the thread about Alaskins and Wolves. I have searched, but it only thing it brings up is the various comments that people have made regarding Palin and wolves, not the article. I am hoping it will give me a little better understanding of this terrible inhumane way of "dealing" with wolves. Defenders of Wildlife is getting ready to launch another ad because as you know, the season is soon upon us, and it can't hurt to have a better understanding of this topic and how Alaskans view it.

Can't wait to see Nighthawk's photos - that camera is sure to make every one of us look great!! An All-Cal Mudstock sounds like a great idea!  Make it a weekend-long gathering, with wineries and hot tubs nearby!

You helped me keep my sanity and from being kicked out of the family, which I probably would have been if McCain/Palin had won. My parents said they didn't think they would have been able to be around me afterwards. I was so pissed about 2000 and 2004 and had been grumbling for the past 8 years. They did come around to my way of thinking that Bush was worse than horrbile for the country and the world, but they didn't think it would be as awful as it turned out--they just thought it was me being overly dramatic.

But disaster was averted by your intelligent blogging. And the smart guy won because you got the word out on the crazy AK Gov.

And if I ever get sad, I'm going to the Bristol Palin Baby Name thread on this forum, and I'm going to laugh my self silly! There are some VERY funny people here!
