We Two Mother Truckers are from Michigan, but could you possibly arrange for us to be from Maine?

Well, I think we made all Mudpuppies honorary Alaskans, so maybe the Mainers (is that what they call themselves?) can make you honorary whatever they are...

And,  Welcome

Here we jokingly call them "Mainiacs".   LOL I think at least some of them refer to themselves as "Down Easters", although there is some debate over whether that applies to the whole state or just the Down East part of it. I bet Aeroentropy or Marnie (?) could enlighten you, though.

Oh, and as an honourary Mainiac, (I spent a lot of time there as a child with my grandparents), I think they'd probably love to have you...

Somebody rattle my cage?? Oh, Hi TwoMotherTrkrs! Welcome to the flats.

I won't get too technical, but "downeast" when used properly means the most northeast part of the coast of Maine. It was downwind, back when that was important (actually, still is downwind a good deal of the time, just not so important now that people have found other ways of traveling besides sailing ships). There are lots of arguments as to where downeast begins, since, afterall, it is a relative term.

Mainiac works.

So does Mainah.

There are a few other less savory ones too, but I'll need a lot more cold meds on board to go that way.

Regardless (note I did not say irregardless!), come on out and visit, and maybe we can arrange honorary citizenship!

TwoMotherTrkrs:  lol...first I added you to Maine on our States list....then moved you to Michigan....I'm sooo confused!

Now you're under both States!

There are 2 of you, right?

Ahhhh.  At last we've found a place where we can be whatever the heck we want to be!  Ayup, one Mainiac and one Gander would be just fine.  The glory of it all.
Re: Downeast...my intro to Maine 35 years was Stonington.  Have been returning there at LEAST once a year since.  And...for variety, we go to Kokadjo on First Roach Pond near Moosehead Lake.

You are such a welcoming crowd.
