Night Kitchen - Mudflatter Chatter 12/11 - 12/12

(Updated for 12/12)
Hallooo Night Kitchen Dwellers!
The weather turned cold fast here in Anchorage. I'd check my thermometer but I don't want to even open the door! It's safely down into the single digits though...
The dog isn't even begging to go out. Now THAT's cold.
My goal this week has been to be in bed before 1am, Alaska time. So far, since Monday I'm 2 for 3, and I've got 19 minutes to make it tonight!
See you in the morning!

"night, 'night. I'm off to bed too! Everyone else, enjoy the night kitchen (and send Max off to bed if you find him, after he takes a bath to wash off all that dough!)

I've been a busy girl today, first the chat about starting your own blog, then exercised for well over an hour because I wanted to kick my butt into gear. I did something a bit different - 10 mins of Wii Fit Step, then a short "run" across the Wii Fit running course, then 10 mins on the bike, and then repeat the above x3.
Then a quick cook of prawns, vegetables and rice, and a sit down to catch up with the goings on around here..

Just in case you didn't catch it on the blog..
The Admins on the forums will be updating The States Project at the end of this week.
http://www.themudflats.net/forum/index.php/topic,3753.0.html
What is the States project?
Over these past few weeks, we’ve been introducing ourselves on the forums, and letting the other folks here know where we are, and the moderators and admins thought it would be a cool idea to compile a list of members by what state (or country!
) we live in.
If you are a mudpuppy and you have not taken a moment to write a quick (or long, up to you) intro on the forums, do it over the next 24 hours and you’ll be added when the states project is next updated.
If your name is on the states project, it makes fellow forum members better able to find you in the event of a mudstock.
So head over to the introduce yourself forum -
http://www.themudflats.net/forum/index.php/board,3.0.html
and post your intro today.

Good grief Snos! I got tired just reading your post! I need to at some point pry myself out of this chair and return to some good sweaty forward motion. By election day, I think every muscle in my body had atrophied, except for my fingers!
But that's what Januaries are for, right?
For now, my exercise is this:
That burns calories, right?

Good for you and your exercise regime, Snoskred! Now that's encouragement for the rest of us who may spend a bit too much time chatting wth our mudpals in the a.m. instead of doing our full hour of gym!
And Ill need it after today's recipe I am making for my own blog : individual chocolate tartlets! Yummy! But oh so caloric. If I could only pass them around....
I have always loved that Dancing Weinie, and I think that just looking at him makes me all tired out!

I've visited the forum, not altogether sure how it works--I posted this (last post) earlier, just want to see how it works to gear up.
South Side Chicago
Cautionary note for your Alaska Governor (and others) elected by the people:
Blagojevich’s illegal, unethical, and cloudy wrong-doings caught up with him in the crashing crook eliminator of Cloud-Be-Gone. Of course it takes an honest federal agent (Patrick Fitzgerald) to spray the area. As an Illinois voter who *gasp* voted for Blagojevich (he’s done some decent things), I’m able to really commiserate with Alaskans who expect Governor Palin to serve the people as she agreed to do when sworn into to office.
Interesting side-note: Blagojevich as been labeled a sociopath by local pundits for a little while now. Shades of Sarah. Don Young, no sympathy for him either.

Good morning
dowl
and any other mudpups who are awake:
Coffee cup in hand, I'm watching CNN to find out what transpired in IL while I was asleep- is it a stand off between Gov Sleaze and the legislator/Atty Gen/Lt Gov? What are the chances of the IL Supreme Court kicking him out?
AKM-
Is SP a little testy since the adoring media lights are not on her right now?
I am waiting for ARC to pick up a garage-full of donations, so I'm tackling the Christmas cookies; does that qualify as exercise, as long as I don't eat any? (yeah, right- as if that's going to happen
) My primary exercise is walking Mocha, my energetic 4 year old designer hybrid- over hill and dale, through the green belt, past the soccer fields...

It works brilliantly. And you are now well on your way. Please post again soon.

Heh. I was wondering about that too. I mean, she doesn't even have turkey slaughter interviews to dress up for now. It must be hard. My heart bleeds for her.
Um, on second thought... NOT

Good morning all...
My little Bisou is at the vet's. Thankfully, I am less than a mile away, so I can be there at a moments notice. We played a little bit this morning after his early walk..happy little guy.
I'm making cookies today too CO Almost Native! I figure it will keep me occupied and make the day go by more quickly. Also, thanks for the info you sent. I am going to run up to the local discount store for some tiny guys undies! Great suggestion...got a chuckle too. And YES....Eating COOKIES is EXERCISE!
Hi and welcome
dowl
!
@AKM....thanks for your note about Bisou
...I'll report back about his progress and our visit with the little guy this evening. I feel he is in good hands.
Oh...and it's another gorgeous, sunshiney day in NM!

Huh, I always thought he was a dancing chili pepper, but I
am
hoping that his exercise is taking care of all our exercise needs!

Wow - so this is the Night Kitchen! It's my first time venturing in here (and I like to cook, go figure?!) It's so sparkly and shiny!
It is a gray and dismally cold rainy day here in VA...my coffee pot is empty and cold too. When I saw the Coffee Lounge name in the Forum I thought of my favorite warm haunt in Eagle River - Jitters! Oh to be sitting in front of their fireplace with a white chocolate mocha, yummmy! If you haven't guessed ....
I'm feeling so far removed from the mudflats crowd these days.
I have too little time for my computer and the 'flats as I get ready for the holidays.
Just caught up on the week's blogs, and now I am off to cook supper in my kitchen. Parmesan Pork with Garlic carrots and a salad (trying to make up for the holidays early!) Reading the posts about the cookbook has sparked my curiousity so I will be back to check out that stir fry and the cookies (great combo!)

Hey, WranglerTractor--you should let us all know what you're cooking in the "What's for Eats" thread too:
