Howdy-

This is ak(I can't see Russia from my house)dennis beaming to you from just outside of beautiful Wasilla, Alaska, the New Mecca for the hardcore right, Republican evangelicals, and other assorted Palinistas and whack jobs (sorry evangelicals, not ALL of you are whack jobs).  My particulars:

Born in California, but raised by wolves, er, no, I mean raised in Hawaii.  And no, I didn't know "Barry" Obama.  He's quite a bit younger than I and he went to private and verrrry exclusive Punahou High School.  I merely attended public and verrrry mediocre Radford High School.  We may have gotten our pakalolo from the same guy though.  Work has taken me to live in many states; Oregon California, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and I've even lived abroad for a spell.  Settled permanently in Alaska in 1998.  Lived in Unalaska/Dutch Harbor (home to all of those ridiculous crab fishing reality shows) until 2004 when I finally got sick of the high cost of living, being off the road system, and the unbelievably crappy weather (the folks who live there a pretty cool though).  Retired from the north slope oil fields due to injury.  In the process of returning to school to retrain in a new career that fits with my disability, possibly education.  Married, 5 cats, one dog, no kids.  Irritatingly enough the wife LOVES Sarah Palin but she is otherwise a very thoughtful and intelligent person.  But hey, no one's perfect.  Hmmm.  She says the exact same thing about ME!  Anyway, we obviously don't discuss politics for the sake of matrimonial harmony.  But no problem, I now have Mudflats for my political rants!!!!
