57 year old Mom or 4, VP of small computer company,

I like to say I have a kid in every decade. I have a 36 yo, 34 yo, 27 yo and 14 yo.

I'm not a hockey Mom, but I've been a Girl Scout leader for 8 years, a softball Team Mom many times and I'm on my 4th teenager.

I've been a registered Democrat since I could vote, but I'm married to a Republican. Politics are never fun in our house. My husband isn't voting this time at all. I take that as a small victory for our side.

Anyway, love Mudflats, love the new forum and most of all love AKM and all the other wonderful, smart, caring and beautiful women (and men) who hang out here.

ocliberal...

p.s. And most of all I love, love, love we can edit our posts now and correct our typos...

Hello OC.  Sounds to me as if you might well be in line to take Scara's place if she drops out--you already have the title.

I'm married to a republican as well and the discussions can be a bit wild at times!  Mine is most likely sitting this election out as he can't stand McCain.  He's really trying hard to like Palin but is starting to cringe at her voice and lack of intelligbile answers.  I'm hoping he sits it out.  Both my adult children are firmly in the Obama camp as is my 86 yo mother and her 89 yo boyfriend (who were staunch HRC supporters0

That sounds like my husband too. For now, we've agreed to disagree to keep civil war from breaking out, although lately he is just become quieter and quieter about anything political. He's not the political junkie I am so he doesn't stay on top of the day-to-day intrique. I , on the other hand, always get a little crazy during Presidental elections. I've not fully recovered from 2000 yet.

Of course when we do argue I always finish by telling him his vote doesn't count anyway since California is solidly Blue! That really gripes him.

All my adult kids are voting for Obama and so is my 83 year old lifetime Republican mom and my 75 year old lifetime Republican mother-in-law.

My kids make me very proud!

Hi, ocliberal. I'm "anotherocliberal" but I live in south Orange County. I am so happy to see there are some of us in a "red" county who have comes to our senses, or had common sense in the first place. And to think that I changed my registration temporarily in 2000 to vote for McCain in the primary. I like to think that I wasn't entirely crazy, that the McCain of 2008 is not related to the McCain of 2000; he's undoubtedly forgotten that McCain, as he didn't seem to remember that Spain is in Europe.

Welcome to the forums! Smiley

My other half is pretty non-political, I can usually just tell him who I think he should vote for, he doesn't keep up with the goings on. Smiley

We actually just had a council election here last weekend..  Smiley And there was change, yay!

 Welcome
We're arriving over here one by one, aren't we?  Similar, but different: 4 adult children, born within 5 years! Not sure which of us is more crazy, OC LOL

Hi Cassie!

Wow, there are so many logging on. This forum is wonderful.

I don't know who is crazier. At least you sort of go your teenagers over with. I'm just starting another one. Wish me luck!

I went from being the youngest Mom to the oldest. I'm just an old hippie from the 60's but I don't think everyone knows that... Smiley
