My username is Hope, and I live in Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula. This is my first time saying anything on the forum, so hope I'm doing it right.

Thank you for the wonderful welcome!!  I wasn't sure how this worked, so imagine my chagrin to find myself right there! Not just on the list of where I live! I do seem a little tentative for an Alaskan, don't I!? 

Well, can't tell you, after my deer-in-headlights moment of seeing my wimpy little intro right there on the list with everyone's gusto-intros, how dear it was to see all your welcomes and encouragements!! Thank you!!

Since I kind of get it now, might as well give a little actual information. I've lived in Alaska since 1980, and moved here from Montana, where at the time I thought I was among Democrats! HA!  I knew right away that was NOT the case in Alaska, so I've kind of gone underground politically. And I was never vociferously political. Shannyn Moore helped me articulate WHY that was a few weeks back, and that is just one drop in the sea of stuff I've learned since I became politically active for the first time in my long life in support of Obama, and very soon afterwards found Mudflats!  So my learning curve is still skyrocketing! I mean... NOW I have actually joined the forum!

I am still scratching my head about the best way to help us move in the right direction -- what I, personally, can do to help that movement - and one of these days I might dip my toe into the other parts of the forum and see if I can learn more there.
