TV-wise, I am a huge fan of The Deadliest Catch,

Thanks for the effort.  From Homer, Alaska -  the home of the 'Time Bandit' - yes they actually live here most of the time when in port.  Otherwise; most of the crab fleet is based in Seattle...

OMG a WORLD WIDE COMMUNITY ORGANIZER!   Stay away from governors from the Far North.

Thank you for your time.  I've participated in several forums on several different topics and never have I seen one grow as fast as this one did, just overnight.

Here's to Snoskred and AKM:  Hip, hip, hooray x 3

and

 Cheers!

Hey Homer - thanks for this info, I thought all the boats were based in Seattle. Wink Those guys on the Time Bandit have a great sense of humor. Smiley

You are just super!  Thanks for all your hard work and, OMG, all the time and effort! You are amazing! Got an Aussie down the street studying at CSU; engineering, I think. Nice family, even if I think they probably voted for "those ones".

Thank you, Snoskred for making fewer funny things happen on the way to the Forum for those of us who are not techno natives.

Love your blog, though I haven't got to all of it yet.  Got kind of hung up on Prince Harry's family jewels  Shocked --or perhaps hung down.  Huh?

Ditto Nisperos comment!

Hope the smilies, etc. above begin to tell you how much I appreciate your efforts, time, and humor here!

You have done a fantastic job!  I never read blogs or used forums before my enlightenment about AKM.  What you have done with the forum site is fantastic and I am totally becoming at ease.

I know many complain and do not truly appreciate all the work and effort you have put into this.  Even though I know nothing about what you do, I know from my wordprocessing and internet research experience that it is done by someone with great skills and dedication.

Please don't let those who (like me) have no experience with blogs and forums get you down.  So many are only familiar with e-mail and do not see the "big" picture of how this is no different in function, but just let's you participate in a community rather than just one-on-one.  Thanks too for all the great smilies and other technical extras.

Thanks for keeping the trolls corralled (sp?).  It has made it a much more enjoyable experience for all!

Forgot the say, I came within inches of dying in Sydney after eating a toxic oyster and I still love the place, all of it, but especially the Ambo (is that the right thing to say?) who literally saved my life.

Thanks nisperos, Forty Watt, Bear Woman and to all the previous posters in this thread also, too.

Yeah I can't quite believe that myself.. someone told me they thought it was a bottle of water in there!

Yep, Ambo is the right thing to say Smiley I knew there was a reason I don't eat oysters Smiley

Now now, not all oysters are toxic; most of them are very tasty!  My bet is it had PSP (paralytic shellfish poisoning, caused by a toxic algae I think) or something like that.  That the case, Forty Watt?

I never thought to inquire what the oyster was suffering from.  Tongue   I, on the other hand, went into toxic shock.  The first clue that this wasn't just a gastric thing was when I progressively lost feeling in my extremities.

Nothing against lovely healthy oysters.  Raw with a dash of lemon juice--smashing, but not something I'll ever taste again.

I'm going to pretend you didn't say that.  I prefer the original interpretation.

If your mouth started tingling in conjunction with the toxic shock, it was prob. PSP.  On the other hand, maybe you're just allergic to them.  Bummer either way, though we're REALLY glad you survived!

LOL  That's funny enough to make the experience almost worth having--O.K. that's an overstatement.  Still funny though.

Snoskred,
May I add my thanks as well for the tremendous job you have done. AKM obviously has attracted an excellent support team. I have been very impressed with the subtly, the speed and the intricacies of all that you all are doing to encourage the best kind of community interaction. Congratulations to you all.
