From mud to sand...here we are!  Nice to see the new digs, AKM...already Bookmarked on my Mac!  (That's a computer, not a Presidential Candidate.  I'm certain that my Mac would know how to use the other Mac rather than the other way around  LOL )

Vital Stats:

I am 47, married and the father of two wonderful girls.  At the moment I am a “Domestic Warrior” (that’s a much more manly way of saying “Stay At Home Dad”), and a freelance writer.  “FREE” being the operative word as I write on my own Blog or do the occasional music review for a friend’s website.  I’ve been married for 15 years to the wonderful Tess…God only knows how she puts up with me!  Without her, I would be a lost soul…I love her dearly!

I love Cats… We have 3 of them: Patches, Harley and Marley.  Our most famous 22 pound loving black monster of a cat, Miles, passed away 5 years ago at the ripe old age of 15.  He is STILL missed by us all.  To say he was one of a kind is an understatement.

I am a Recovering Alcoholic.  I am also a survivor of the Terrorist Attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.

I am an avid music listener, and I am most especially a HUGE fan of Progressive Rock.  I also play keyboards, some drums (I can play a mean 9/8 but ask me to do 4/4 and I’m lost) and percussion as well.

I am currently working on a novel about the last 7 years of my life…and trust me, it’s belongs in a book somewhere.  In brief: it is about surviving 9/11; a descent into depression, acute Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and alcoholism; and putting the pieces of the puzzle of my life back together in an order I never quite expected them to fit.

I currently write a daily blog about politics, life, politics, life...and politics and life.  It's called "Intersections In Real Time" and can be found here: http://arkangel3.wordpress.com/  Shameless self-promotion now over.

You guys have been great.  It's been one of the most fortunate accidents that I stumbled on to this place about an hour after they announced The Ice Princess' selection.  The sense of community that has developed here is inspirational and just amazing.

You too!  What part of Miss?  I spent some time in Canton and Jackson for about a month back in the 80s.  It was pretty down there...but HOT!  (I was there in July).

Hey Ark,  Just bookmarked your blog...can't wait to read it.  My blog is www.flowergirlphx.wordpress.com  It is therapeutic and a place for my frustrations to go.  Bet the same helps you too.  I used to work in NYC and lost friends on 9/11...

and...I spent every summer with my grandmother down the shore at Mantoloking, and with my uncle on LBI..  Great memories!   There is truly no place like the Jersey shore!!! Smiley

 Welcome

Greetings from Staten Island. Many here suffered loss on 9/11. If you're inclined, maybe you could confirm an observation that I have. Some people who were not near any tragedy on 9/11 seem to be disproportionately freaked out by it than many NYers that lived within the whole thing.
Just wondering if you have thoughts about how most of NY is 'blue' and many shouting about 9/11 are from red sates.

See you round the forum...

Hiya Arkangle3,

Don't know why I'm "welcoming" you, as I suspect you just might'a been hanging around the "Flats" longer than I.
In any event,   Welcome

BTW, years ago I used to live with my SO in Ocean Grove.  A small, private town owned by the Methodist Church 5 walking minutes South of the Asbury Park Boardwalk.  Can't tell you how many times I heard "The Boss" play, both inside and outside jammin' on the Boardwalk or the beach.

I wonder if Ocean Grove still  puts up chains across the ingress and egress of the Town at midnight, Saturday, and keeps them up till midnight Sunday?
Some sort of "NO driving on the Sabbath, you Heathen!" rule.
Smallest town I've ever seen, area wise.
Now I live in Alaska, where we have real tiny towns of 100.000 acres.    Go figure!

POOTIES for OBAMA 08!     YEAH!
