From Pittsburgh to Alexandria

Greetings from the DC Mudstock in Alexandria, VA!
I'm came in with family to meet some fellow Mudpuppies and check out the inauguration activities.
I'll keep the introduction brief for now. I found Mudflats back during the campaign when McCain "chose" the Moose Princess for Veep, linked in an article on Crooks and Liars. I've been around in the live chats during the debates and election night, and I've posted a few comments on the main blog. But this is my first contribution to the forums.
Folks are trickling in, and we're sitting around a nice warm fire noshing some snacks and sipping coffee. I'm sure we'll have lots of things to talk about as the day goes on.

Glad you are posting. I am so envious, sitting here in AK, although it is a balmy 53 here today.
I am currently watching the HBO presentation from Lincoln Memorial (maybe a rerun) and have tears of joy at watching such a great celebration!
Enjoy and send us updates! That is one of the great things about this community, we share in each other's joys, celebrations, tears and triumphs!

Hi there Bornokay:
to the Flats. I hope you are enjoying this momentous historical time. OOOh I am green with envy. But I have the unique talent of being able to experience great moments vicariously through all the pictures and the desciptions you bring back, so it is up to you to help me do this, so plenty of pictures and descriptions please. Have a historical blast. I am hollering at you from Southern California. Looking forward to seeing your post here and the DC Mudstock post.

BornOkay Geeze... how lucky that you can be right there... how I wish I was. I too had lots of tears yesterday and have had again today watching the replay on Youtube and posting on my blog all about it.
Finding the clips has been a little hard...but have found them. Then seeing everything else today..How proud I am of our new president.
