Hello everyone from an aging hippy female from Kentucky. I lived in New Haven, CT during the late 60's & was quite active protesting the Vietnam War. Feels like a hundred years ago. Today I feel like a whipped dog, having survived so much "crap & yap yap" from our political leaders & their shenanigans in the years since, (Bush & Cheney have about done me in) &  now here we go again.

After this much time I would have thought we would have evolved to a much higher level as human beings.
The race "problem" disgusts me and now the sexist element - Jeez Louise. I am sooooooo disappointed by the direction this election took when the Palin element was added.  Shocked
Bring on the new game show:
"American Idol" Presidential Race 2008. We have just got to win this election if there is any chance for us as a nation to start to get healthy again. The other option is terrifying.

I am Obama/Biden all the way Two Thumbs Up!

Thanks Mudflats, for all your hard work, all the other great contributors and a (Special shout to Alaskans.)  Two Thumbs Up!
YOU'VE MADE A WONDERFUL HOME AWAY FROM HOME. Cheers!

Kentucky really is a wonderful state in every aspect other than it's slightly RED color.
We are a strong group supporting Obama - but highly outnumbered by (sigh) McCain supporters.

One fact about Kentucky that I thought Alaska might find interesting:
Kentucky has more miles of running water than any other state except Alaska. The numerous rivers and water impoundments provide 1,100 commercially navigable miles (1,770 kilometers).

Love to paddle a lot of our rivers and those in surrounding states - that's one of my hobbies (slowing down some due to age) but used to be in a canoe and on the river every chance I could.  :1thumbup

Thanks for the welcome.
