That doesn't make much sense, but then again, being a biker in Interior Alaska doesn't, either.  Make sense.

I'm northofdenali's significant other (except her cats) and though I've been lurking a long time, I finally figured out how to sign in as myself and say hello to my fellow Mudflatters.

It's getting warm here (finally) and we're looking forward to getting the bike out of storage.  We may even be able to get down to Southcentral and sa howdy in person to folks on this board!

Sorry, those who live out of state - we're still working on passports and since we have to go through Canada to get anywhere (I'm still outraged - 57 years in this state, and can't get out of it!) - it'll be a while before we can visit you guys!

The more you know, the less you need.

Welcome!   Welcome

I'm planning a trip to Seattle and found out if I want to visit Vancouver, B.C. while I'm up there, I don't need a passport... yet.  Not until June 2009.

Here's the info, if you want to visit the lower 48 through Canada:

http://gocanada.about.com/od/canadatraveloverview/qt/uscitizenborder.htm
As of June 1, 2009, everyone from every country that comes to Canada by air, land and sea needs a passport or equivalent travel document. (Some exceptions apply to children's passport requirements)

Before June 1, 2009, U.S. citizens do not necessarily need a passport entering Canada by land or sea, but need valid ID that proves identity and citizenship.

Thank you all for the warm and informative welcome!  I don't post much, but NoD will make up for that (sorry, sweetheart, I stole the forum while you were fixing dinner).

Welcome, wayuphere! Hope you get your fair share of computer time...  Welcome from your perfidious neighbouring country.  Pretty sure we now need passports to visit you. What a sucky situation.
