Hello everyone,
I have only been on the Forum thread about the Eagle Support thread and am not familiar with all of the different threads that may be 'pet related' so I am sort of browsing.... randomly.

I was talking to my Sister yesterday and she is a BIG cat lover and has been working with and running a cat adoption group for years now.
Their new group is setting up a low-cost spay and neuter clinic to open July 20th. Their fees will be about half what anybody else charges and the purpose was to allow 'lower income' people a resource where they could go to get their pets fixed. The high cost usually deters people from fixing the pets (and the problem is made worse) and then you have litter after litter of unwanted pets. They are trying to help keep the animal population under control so all these unwanted pets don't end up in SPCA shelters and have no homes. They are trying to get the word out do advertising, let people know about it and all of those other related things... like setting up the facility/building as well. They have a webpage here...
http://www.acatteam.org/

When we talked yesterday we were talking blogs and she said 'Google' also gave them a blog (or registered one )... but she doesn't know how to set it up really or is very unfamiliar with Blogs. I know Wordpress can set them up or deals with blogs. I didn't know if one company was better or easier to work with or has better benefits as far as using one.
Their webpage is their main source as far as giving out info. I'm not even sure a blog  would be even helpful... or even apply to what they are doing.
I am just sort of on a 'gathering info mission' for her. Has anybody come across or in their experience seen anything on the internet or on other blogs that pertain to using a blog for something like this clinic. Are there successful websites that she could visit to see how they are being used. Has anybody visited websites that they thought were set up really good and were impressed with..?
As I said, I am sort of fact finding right now.
My questions may not even be on topic for the questions I posed. Is there another thread here I should visit..? Like I said.... I am a Forum Rookie
Any comments or help is appreciated. Thanks.

Yay for the fishies, Memphis! How do you manage them and their pond in the winter?  I'd love a little display pond, but I know I wouldn't be able to maintain it, and I'd have to keep the duckies out of it.

Aero

They stay in there all winter, they hibernate in the deep spot, I do try to keep a whole in the ice for air.  Last year I kept a heater in the Pond (my first winter with the pond) but a friend who also too has a pond told me it was unnecessary which was good saved me on electric this past winter and they all survived even last year's babies.

Lovely all, but adore the team of dogs! We once dog sledded in Chugiak. This definitely brings back memories! Thank you.  Smiley

Love the fish, too!

OK, I'm experimenting with Photobucket. Hope this works!
This is Maggie/Magnolia the Moosegirl. She's a 100+ pound Appaclahian July Strain Foxhound. That's DH laying on the bed next to him (Maggie is still his "little girl"). Upper right hand corner is my Jack Russell Daisy Doodlebug (and she's checking out the insect life circling the lights!).

OK, it's not working, I have no idea why it isn't. Sorry!

I did use the IMG code. I'll try tinkering with it after the storm passes here -- tornado warning, YIKES!

justafarmer --

I went in and fixed your img link -- the best way to do it is probably to copy the "direct link" from the "share this image" box on Photobucket and then use the img button above and paste that direct link into the box.

What you had before contained a bunch of IMG and link codes, which wound up not showing anything.  Sad

thanks, Alex. I did copy the IMG link from Photobucket but just did regular paste. Didn't use the image button, so that's probably where I messed up. We'll see when I try to do another photo  LOL
