An Old DFH in Southern Oregon

« on: September 19, 2008, 11:57:16 am »

Retired Land Surveyor
Never left the USA, but travelled extensively around the Western United States, a fear of flying in helicopters always made it nearly impossible for me to do any work in Alaska as that is the only practical way to get most survey work done in that great state.
Married to a women much wiser than myself
3 grown sons
Born in Northern Oregon in 1949-Portland(the liberal part of Oregon), now in Southern Oregon, the consevative part of the state, sometimes drives me nuts dealing with it, but some conservatives do actually have other interests besides money.
Love the out of doors.
Have only been to Alaska once, for about a month and loved it, but could not afford to live there if I wasn't being paid Per Diem.
Registered Democrat all my voting life
I try to respect other peoples point of view, but sometimes find it hard, when their logic just does not compute.  I sometimes think this is because I'm lefthanded.
My computer sklils as far as the internet and cell phones is very limited, but as far as using and understanding computer software for the business uses of Land Surveying it's a snap.
Get very frustrated the politics of this country.
Main reason I joined this place is to see what the people of Alaska think of Sara.

Hello fellow Oregonian.  I'm in Corvallis so I'm pretty comfortable politically.  Every Monday since I moved here 4 years ago there is a protest rally outside our courthouse on the main street in town.  Sometimes it's 1 or two people and sometimes it's 20.  I smile and honk as I drive by.  Someday when I'm not working for a living, I'll be out there too.

Where in Southern Oregon are you?  I have a good friend in Bend.

Where is the justice of political power if it executes the murderer and jails the plunderer, and then itself marches upon neighboring lands, killing thousands and pillaging the very hills?
