Please allow me to introduce myself

My handle is Zyxomma, which is Greek (I'm not) for dragonfly, and used in dragonfly taxonomy. My location is the east village in Manhattan, where I have roots. My mother (may she rest in peace) lived 2 blocks from where I live now when she was born. Her family moved to Brooklyn "so the children would have the country;" that's where my dad (RIP also) was born, too. Of course, that meant that I was born in Brooklyn as well. I'm an avid reader, a writer, and an educator in holistic health. I practice iridology (reading the irises of the eyes to assess tissue states), spiritual aromatherapy, and give advice on nutrition, among other things. I found the Mudflats shortly after $carah was announced as the VP choice of McShame, and have been hooked since. This is where I go for fun and information I can't find in the NY Times. Looking forward to meeting my local mudpuppies this weekend. I am vegan, and usuall eat live food (uncooked), which I love to prepare, particularly when my boyfriend can share it with me.

to the forum! So glad you enjoy wandering through the mud with us.
My oldest boy went from vegetarian to vegan a few years ago so I'm always on the lookout for good cookie recipes. They are so hard to find.
Iridology sounds so very interesting. Now I've got a zillion questions zipping about my head on that.

zyxmomma -
You have a healing presence about you!! (No, I'm not psychic or anything)
Welcome home
(And thanks for your rockin' sense of humor, also too.)
So do you eat worms and bugs, etc? Just curious.

Hi, my mudflats handle is Zyxomma. I'm from the east village, New York, NY. On the Mudstock NY photo thread (thanks, Ripley!), I'm the one in the huge black hat. I turned 18 for the 18-year-old vote, for which I gathered thousands of signatures (when petitions were paper). I'm vegan, eat mostly raw food (only vegetables, fruits, a little sprouted grain, nuts, & squashes), and my work is holistic health counselor/practitioner.
