There is a long list of mudpuppies in Illinois. Smiley

Is it time to organise a Chicago mudstock?

If yes, would it be possible to include some of the nearby states - I understand Wisconsin is not very far away from Chicago. Smiley

Please post your suggestions on dates, times, and locations for a mudstock in this thread.

I do not know where to put myself "in" so I am included in Illinois happeneings.

Woohoo!! A Chicago/Midwest Mudstock sounds like an idea whose time has come!!

I'm in.

As a suggestion, there is a very friendly venue called Goose Island Brew Pub.  Here's a link to the one on Clybourn where I've been to a couple of events including a DU meet-up.

It's a spacious place with private alcove/sections available, all with internet access and plenty of free parking, and plus also close to public transportation.

Prices are reasonable and the food is tasty and they have a great beer selection.  So that's my suggestion.

BTW, just so you know, I have no connection to the place other than as an occasional patron.   Wink

As far as date and time, weekends are perfect for me and weekdays after 7:00pm.

Hey, Wisconsin here...Milwaukee.
I would definitely go to Chicago for Mudstock if included. I grew up in Northern Wisconsin
[born in Oak Park Suburban Hospital] and from up there, this is all the
FLATS.
Would you all think of the weekend of the 24-25 October, or is that too soon?

That won't work for me.   October is a busy month in my house.  How idoes November or December look for people?

November is fine by me. But I'm so easy to please... Grin

Weekends in November are 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, and 28-29 (Thanksgiving day week-end)

It's long enough from now to pump up enthusiasm and spread the word, but soon enough we can start anticipating the fun.

Maybe we can the choose the date by process of elimination. Which November week-end doesn't work for y'all? Whichever one is left, THAT'S the date where everyone can be included.

I'll be checking back in this thread daily to take the pulse of the Midwest Mudpups.

I request NOT the Nov. 7-8 w/end; or 27-28, but otherwise okay for Nov.

OK, how about tentatively schedule the meet-up for Nov. 14 or 15?   reindeer

One month seems like adequate prep time to tweak our social calendars.

Nov. 14-15 sounds good to me, but will figure it will be up to the 'real' Chicagoans
to decide.

I would love to come, but it doesn't look like it'll work out for me this time.  Logistics between work and driving from St Louis complicates things, too

I'll be thinking of you all, and envying you like nobody's business.

Take pictures!

Thanks for letting me know, will cross my fingers for the next one.

I am in Madison, and would love to join up with you all.  I'm not crazy about the idea of driving to downtown Chicago, but you do what you gotta do  Grin If you all would like to come to Madiison, I'd be happy to host the event at my house!

The 15th works best for me.

Hope this is appropriate:
wes_ben, dependingi on the timing, maybe we could meet somewhere on I-94 before
heading into the big bad Chicago traffic.  I would be coming from Milwaukee.

And also, too, , next time could be in Madison, because I noticed two regular posters
from the mid-southern WI area.

That sounds great.. but 500 miles is a little far for me ..

I just don't see anyway I can swing it this time of the year with planning for winter and all .. between saving for heating bills and just getting over the H1N1 .. I just won't be able to make this one.

Thanks for asking me though.
