Hey I'm in Batavia, not far from Buffalo....thought if there were others possibly in Rochester as well, and maybe even further...we could meet in a central location...

Any suggestions for where we should meet???? I'm all for maybe after the holidays....maybe mid-late January 2010 I'd be willing to help organize if in a familiar area...if we get together before Jan 2010 I probably won't be able to do anything. . .my work is extremely busy between now and then. . . .but i don't want to be in the way if everyone else can get together sooner....
Maybe if everyone sends in their ideas we can narrow the location down....Batavia is a central location for those in rochester/syracuse/buffalo...fredonia maybe not so...although I drive to Fredonia on a regular basis...my son attends SUNY Fredonia so I know the drive here(batavia) is about 1.5 hrs in good weather
Maybe come up with some ideas of what we want to do...
I'll check back later....Thank you, I'm excited to meet like-minded people

JoTheGirl - I'm also in South Buffalo ! And hey ECP!
Well for Mudstock I'm out of the running until spring but if you put together a winter gathering there's no reason
we can't do another later in the year. Nice thing about WNY is we're all really within easy travel distance by way of the 90.
(there's one of the ways you can tell a WNYer - "The 90" and "The 290" instead of routes)
Hey Jo - here's a link for you: htttp://www.SouthtownsOnline.com Drop an email from the website if you want to be added to the mailing list. And anyone else in Buffalo - if you have church or community events, let me know and I'll add them to the calendar.

I would be willing to drive...but if during the week must be home by 2 to get my grandkids from school...unless on a weekend then I am all set...of course all depending on the weather....as we all know the 90 is closed due to weather when it gets read bad..and I dont have to have it that bad before I wont drive in it...
barracuda....I live right beside college kids, and across the street from them...I get along with them very well....
I love the college...many of my friends teach there...or used to until retirement...

Depending on the date, we would be willing to come up from Pittsburgh. We never turn down a Mudstock!

OK Mudpuppies! Looks like we have the seeds for a WNY Mudstock! Futurexpat, I root for the Steelers when they're not playing the Bills, would be great to have a PA contingency. Since you have to come thru Erie, PA, maybe you could do a caravan!
Early 2010 sounds great to me. Let's keep the ideas coming. I've never been to a Mudstock, those with experience speak up.
What do we want to accomplish: just social? a "theme"? NYS Congresspeople invited? I like to think big, you never know when a big idea will stick...(kinda like a black family in the White House!). "Talk soon"!

I like early 2010 also. . . . . .also if anyone with experience in organizing one of these could speak up and share ideas of what has been done before I'd appreciate that. . . .
I'm more than willing to help organize....thanks

Well as for me, I can't even begin to suggest a date. I'm out of commission until at least spring. The earliest I can consider is May. I'll work around everyone else and do my best to be there whatever date works best for everyone.
I will roll around some ideas for location and post them.

Boy, they're not kidding! They even make mini-ones when they're on vacation 4000 miles from home!!
