Former Clinton supporter who is now supporting Obama in New York City.  My vote will very much be FOR Obama/Biden but will also now be very much ANTI-Palin.  I was incredibly distressed when I heard the news of her nomination and immediately looked for news in Alaska!  That's how I stumbled upon Mudflats.  Actually, it would be more accurate to say that when I first heard the news I was amused and bewildered (hence the screen name).  It was after I found out more about her that I became distressed!  (But I'm not changing my screen name.  LOL)

Thanks so much to AKM for this 'safe place' and to Snoskred for the forum.  Happy to be here amongst the sane.

Your post tells the story many of us have lived, as well. I wasn't a "Hillary";  I hoped for Al Gore to see the light.  That's me, being delusional.  But Gore, Richardson, Biden, Hillary, Obama--anybody but someone who employs Karl Rove, picks Sarah Palin and sings "Bomb, bomb, bomb-- bomb, bomb Iran."

It may be a cliche, but I love New York.

I was an original Obama supporter so i do appreciate you being able to put your support behind Obama. I love Hillary and her future is still bright!  Have a great day and a great weekend. Its going to be an exciting 6 weeks! - Trish Cheesy

Hello Amused.  Same story here.  Clinton supporter, all confused, and then with the announcement wanted info on Palin--the more I uncovered, the sicker I got.  Came upon Mudflats on P-day and have been comforted since then.  Very happy to be here with people like you. Welcome

hi all!
greetings from riverdale. i'm also from and still a part-time marylander.
i was hoping al gore would run too, but i backed joe biden (ok, i was one of the 6) and hubby- Ron Paul (?!)  until iowa, then we saw that speech. and we (even my husband) were sure that he was our president. and there's just nothing else in the world i want more right now.
on "black scarah friday" i found mudflats, like everone else asking, sarah who? my name was Laughing At GOP because it was all so absurd... and i'm still gobsmacked (thanks uk lady!) that anyone thinks scarah is a good idea. but hey, after lots of miles traipsing around this country for fun and for work, i oughta know better.
nice to meet you folks.
