Obama is kicking off the "White House to Main Street" listening tour on jobs and the economy in Pennsylvania.

Organizing for America is asking people to gather outside the event to show strong support.

Reading a few news stories about the event, it sounds like it was very interesting and went rather well for the most part.  While most news outlets concentrated their stories on the President's message, leave it to fox to write up a story about prostitution, weed and non-violent crime as a way to boost job creation.  And Obama was there to gloat over the newest job numbers, also too.

Gloat?

geez.  [eye roll]

Pres. Obama, in Allentown, ''Modestly'' Cheered by Latest Jobless News

by KYW's Brad Segall

President Obama was upbeat about the newest unemployment figures during a town hall meeting Friday at Lehigh Carbon Community College, near Allentown, Pa., but he says the economy still has a long way to go.

Obama delivered what he called "modestly encouraging" news about the latest unemployment figures. He says he’s taken difficult steps to end the economic crisis and calls this a hopeful sign that will help turn the tide
Good story.  Not very long but focuses on jobs, job creation.  Over all, positive message.

Obama Fields Prostitution Question During Economic Town Hall

President Obama, asked if he would consider legalizing prostitution, marijuana and non-violent crimes as a remedy to boost the economy, answered: "That will not be my job strategy."

Legalizing prostitution will not be part of President Obama's jobs-creation strategy.

That was one emphatic statement that came out of the first stop on the president's multi-city jobs tour -- a stop marked by a few oddball moments.

Obama was at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Allentown, Pa., to field questions from the public about the economy, to reiterate his commitment to turning it around and to gloat a little about the new jobs data that showed the jobless rate has dipped to 10 percent.

Interesting.  Not exactly how I would picture a lead off to an important news story.

I heard about half of the speech and the Q&A and was impressed.  The give and take with the audience was at different times thoughtful, playful, and informative.  It reminded me yet again that we elected the smart & sane one.

That's really disgusting!  Angry

I saw the snip about the young man (kid?) who asked Obama these questions. Obama laughed it off and handled it well.
