BAGHDAD -- A series of bombings apparently targeting educational facilities and other crowded areas killed scores of people in Baghdad on Tuesday morning.

At least six bombings were reported. The explosions took place minutes apart, starting at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Authorities said at least 86 were killed and 156 wounded, but the death toll was expected to rise

Iraq security forces face criticism.

The blasts happened within minutes of each other, signalling a co-ordinated attack with high-profile government ministries among the targets.

I simply can not get my head around this sort of activity.  None of it makes any sense to me.

It seems to me that all three of the major monotheistic religions scream that killing is bad.  Yet all three of them seem to so easily use their religion to justify killing the "others", whoever the "others" are.  All three claim their faith teaches to "love thy neighbor", yet all three find reason after reason to hate or commit violent acts against their neighbors.

Maybe because I am not religious I can see the glaring contradictions and how very wrong all of this is.  Why can't they see?

A militant group linked to al-Qaeda has said it carried out four connected suicide bombings in the Iraqi capital on Tuesday that left scores dead.  The Islamic State of Iraq posted the claim on a website used by militants, news agencies reported on Thursday.

We stirred up a mess there by removing Saddam and leaving a political hole.  There will be no peace because the different factions really do not desire peace.  Outside forces will continue to use this to their advantage making sure there is no peace.

Innocent people will always be caught in the middle.  Used to create more and more fear among the populace.  Fear breeds hate, hate breeds violence, violence breeds fear and the circle continues around and around.
