South Carolina Lawmaker Seeks to Ban Federal Currency

DiYamm, it's getting hard to decide where to place some of the crazee things GOPers do.  General political chat?  Tin Foil?  It's like crazee is the new norm for those people.

Quote
(scstatehouse.gov)South Carolina Rep. Mike Pitts has introduced legislation that would mandate that gold and silver coins replace federal currency as legal tender in his state.

As the Palmetto Scoop first reported, Pitts, a Republican, introduced legislation this month banning "the unconstitutional substitution of Federal Reserve Notes for silver and gold coin" in South Carolina.

You are right about that, Lani. It's hard to tell any more where this will end. They just keep pushing the limits. As soon as you think you've heard it all, they manage to top themselves.  Huh?

I heard someone reference the repubs today as the "opposite party". They don't need any of their own ideas, they are just against anything anyone else does or says. The other one was they were called the "cootie party". Anything the President or Democrats touch automatically has cooties and they can't touch it.

I prefer the "two face party", yep vote in one candidate and you get two positions. Vote against the stimulus (or anything else), bad mouth it, then demand to be included, and try to take credit for whatever you are against, when it does work. You can work their system in reverse also by blaming others for what they created (big deficits and debt), and claim they are the only ones who can fix it.

Mix in conspiracy theories, a little secession and revolution talk, add some hate and racism, and you have the repub party.

Their system is very vestal, and sometimes comical, but not very productive.

Not very productive, but it seems to be working for them.  Angry

Sister Artemis,

I heard the same clip from David Corn -- struck me as apropos since the Republicans seem to be operating on a permanent "opposite day" agenda -- up is down, black is white and anything Obama is FOR they are AGAINST (even if they previously said they were for it!!!!!!) Since then I have been thinking we should call them out as the "opposite day" party and tell them to stop playing kids' games since they're not on the grade school playground anymore.

Carrie Prejean does not have the intellectual capacity to engage in a conversation much above playground level -- and neither does Sarah Palin!

Isn't this the same state with the microchip thing?   Note to self:  Avoid SC.

Yes SC has already given us the governor who was "hiking the Appalachian Trail" while in Argentina -- and Joe Wilson yelling "You Lie!" at President Obama during a joint session of Congress.  Plus this was the state that started the US Civil War by firing on Ft. Sumter.   So yes South Carolina seems to be full of 'teh crazy'.

The microchip thing was in Virgina.  Remember Virgina just voted in a Republican Governor who immediately did away with civil rights in regards to sexual orientation.
