Love the tulips!  If the squirrels don't steal the bulbs they can be enjoyed year after year.

hubby just said if squirrels get the bulbs...

Apparently it is considered a delicacy among the squirrel population.  I've never had a bulb that wasn't happily and joyously accepted (I say stolen) by the little tree rats.   LOL  Of course I do catch heck from the tree tops for not replenishing the supplies in a timely fashion.

The nasty little @!**&! in our neighborhood skipped the dig up the bulbs activity and went straight to stripping the bark off my neighbor's apple tree.  She'll lose the tree this year.
I encourage Miss Mocha and her pal Mr. Burrito to catch any and all of them.  Angry

The first year we were in this house, we planted 100 small hemlocks among the trees in our woods. The deer ate all but three of them. The next year, I planted tons of bulbs. The squirrels ate all of them. Later we planted about 40 rhododendrons. It took awhile, but the deer have destroyed nearly all of them, too. I don't know what will be left after what is turning out to be a bad winter. We chased them away from our bird feeder on the deck today.

We went out to dinner for Valentine's Day at one of our favorite casual restaurants. I forgot Brian!  Embarrassed

CO...the apple tree...it might be great! We have always enjoyed the help from our wildlife friends because my apple trees always responded very well the following season.
But if they have "ringed" the tree...then put some duct tape around the chewed part of the trunk.
