Well, I have a voodoo doll program on my PDA. I can at least have a little fun with it!  LOL

Besides, everyone knows a voodoo doll only works if you have some of the persons hair or fingernails.  LOL Besides, why would you want a Limbaugh or Robertson doll unless it was for real voodoo. I don't want one of them sitting on a shelf or in a closet in my house. Too much like Chucky, or the creepy clown in that USPS ad.

 LOL

So true.  One of those in the house would be much too creepy for me.  Having dealt with the strange and not so friendlies from the nether world I wouldn't want to chance it.   Tongue

There appear to be some rising tensions between countries leading the relief efforts in Haiti. We know the US is sending in upwards of 10,000 troops to the country. But since 2004, Brazil’s military has been the commanding force leading the Haiti UN peacekeeping mission, technically referred to as MINUSTAH. Brazil has about 1,700 soldiers in Haiti and commands about another 5,300 UN forces in Haiti.

Nelson Jobim, Brazil’s defence minister just came back from Haiti and made a point of that saying Brazil would not voluntarily relinquish any of its command duties. Essentially, what he was saying was that Brazil, not the Pentagon, would continue to lead the UN forces.

Sometimes it is better to just stand down and let others lead.  Send the troops for sure and ask Brazil what needs doing.  What harm to let someone else lead for a change?  The constant "me first", I have to run everything attitude doesn't fly very well with the rest of the boys and girls in the sandbox.

Too much needs doing to get all petty over who leads what.

Then there's this -

Quote
Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez yesterday accused the United States of seeking to occupy Haiti by sending troops to the island. That’s right, you got us. We want to occupy one of the poorest nations on Earth in the midst of a complete breakdown of services and society. That is because our work in Iraq and Afghanistan are going so well. He really caught us on this one.

Regarding the Robertson and Limbaugh Voodoo dolls -  I checked how much of that donation goes to Red Cross, and it appears that the Seller will be keeping $12.50 plus 10% (If my multi-variable algebraic equasion solving skills still work...!).

Send your money straight to ARC or MSF please!

 Undecided

(Karma will take care of the two of them eventually!)
Just a note about that.  I posted the listings for fun, not as recommendations for mudpups.  However, those deductions that are mentioned aren't real money to the seller.  They are amounts that ebay and paypal charge and never actually reach sellers.

Just a day after the Chavez claim, a French official is now accusing the United States of “occupying” Haiti and turning away relief supplies. French minister in charge of humanitarian relief Alain Joyandet made the allegation after having an argument with a U.S. commander over the flight plan for a French evacuation flight.

A strong earthquake hit Haiti today, waking people from their beds and sending others running into the streets.

The US Geological Survey says the quake measured 6.1, and hit a country already ravaged by an earthquake eight days ago.

Good grief those poor people can't catch a break.  Just what they didn't need was another earthquake.

The various countries involved with the relief effort should grow up, quit bickering of petty stuff and just work together.  Not everyone can be captain of the ship, somebody has to be the sailors.  Perhaps the UN should designate a chain of command on the ground or a whose responsible for what area.

DeMama ...so agree...how much more can those poor people take?

Oh a happier note...I saw gov randell(sp-from pa)...just return from Haiti where he helped those two sisters from Pittsburgh get all the children out of the orphanage that they had been running in Haiti...all of the kids were in the process of being adopted when the quake hit...so they are coming home to their parents...the sisters would not go without all of the kids

the governor went on to say how good the operations are in Haiti given the circumstances...not to listen to other reports on tv...that things really are pretty organized and that our military is doing a great job running the airport, etc...makes me proud...and applaud our president for acting so quickly

still my heart and prayers with people of Haiti...

We just had the Canada for Haiti fundraiser on tv.  Think they did pretty well and the government matches it dollar for dollar.

I have been so afraid of this.

I know it must be next to impossible account for all these children or even know whether they are orphaned or only separated from their family.  I have been getting daily updates on plans to make the children safe and find temporary care until the painstaking task of sorting out who is who can take place.

There are many people intent on doing the right thing who are working very hard.  We must concentrate on that.

This becomes a problem every time there is a natural disaster of huge proportions.

The Canadian government has decided to fast track any adoption that was already in the works prior to the earth quake and put a complete halt to any new ones until it is clear that all the children there who still have family are reunited with their own family.
