I can't find a link to my Private Messages (inbox, outbox, etc) on the mudflats forum anymore.  I thought I remembered there being a link up near the top of the page, but I can't find anything there.  This is what my screen looks like:

That is very strange indeed.  Try logging out, then log in again.  Right now, your profile section is missing.

As of now, I can see my profile.  I usually use Firefox and I did try opening the page in Internet Explorer and had the same problem.  I also logged out and logged back in.

I'm as clueless as any (and on a Mac as well) but when you say you can see your profile, does that mean that below the bar with HOME  FORUM ...  CHAT (where your arrow is pointing)  you see,  

"Hey, Sister Artemis, you have XXX messages, YY are new"  ?

The link to the inbox is the XX messages, it's not up with the HOME FORUM ... CHAT.

Don't know if that helps at all.  I think you're going to need a exorcist.

There's nothng in between the menu line and the boxes containing the page elements
As the pic I posted shows, there's not really even room for anything having to do with messages.
Is that how it should look?

I wish I could help.  The only question I can answer is no, that's not how it should look.

There should be:

your avatar   Hey, Sister Artemis you have x messages, y are new.
                   Total time logged in: x days, y hours and z minutes.
                   Show unread posts since last visit.
                   Show new replies to your posts.

Admin will look into this - my apologies - did it vanish at any particular moment that you noticed? how long has it been missing?

I figured it out.

Notice the little triangles in my original image in this thread:



I figured out that they DO something.  The one below circled in red toggles the personal info (messages, posts, etc.) on and the one in magenta turns the side bar on and off.



They just needed to both be pointing UP.    Silly me!

Comes of clicking things indiscriminately while fussing with the mouse.

Typos, on the other hand, are usually attributable to cat paws.

OMG I can't stand it when the other half does this as the solution to the problem - oh, let me just click on buttons until it works again! Drives me nuts cos he usually breaks more than he fixes with this method..
