I was watching the Rachel Maddow show the other night and KO and their hall of shame...GOP who voted against the stimulus (am recovery bill)...then go to ribbon cutting ceremonies when the $$$ comes down locally...
One comment they said was how this information needs to be better delievered to the local level...
then in our local paper here there were several editorials basically saying what a waste this money was...didnt help, yadada
so I am calling them on it
I talked with the publisher, who I like, though we are miles apart politically...he will publish whatever I write he said okey dokey..
so I started calling folks who got $$ locally...you can go to recovery.gov and see in your area...even down to town!

I have talked with the chief of police of one city, the airport manager, a city treasurer, specific companies, schools etc...and I am not done

I was thinking that if we all did this...locally...start to stand up for truth...not to just let people think that this money did not help out locally...
funny the chief of police told me it was the first time in a long time that money actually REACHED the local level...

anyone IN on this...who thinks this is  good?  can we expand this?

Rachel Maddow is doing a great job on this,  I can’t help thinking that the hypercritical ribbon cutters are getting the message by her calling them out.

Today Marco Rubio has taken issue of Obama using a teleprompter. I’m lost, what wrong with a teleprompter all of a sudden?  I just don’t know. But you can bet Marco Rubio does.

A HuffPost reporter, however, watched his speech from the front row and Rubio could clearly be seen looking intently and repeatedly at the teleprompters. He also had a stack of papers with him at the lectern and flipped through them as the speech progressed, perhaps unwilling to take any chance he would flub the swipe at Obama.

I was thinking more of getting the information to the local level...

not many people in my area watch KO or RM...so they would not see the wall of shame...and my paper would never publish it on their own

not so much to "out" those who voted against the bill then took the money...but to defend the am recovery bill
our paper has bashed it as a waste...do nothing...money spending bill

so I am calling them out

I have called several agencies, companies etc that got the money..asked what they did with it...if it saved or created a job, etc..then will write a letter that the paper has already told me they will publish...this is essential information for the public...I know they can get it on line...but when they read in the paper that the money saved 20 jobs from just one of our schools, or the jobs saved by constrution company doing the aiprport, of the fire and police that got money...etc...just thinking if we could get this info into more LOCAL papers...
