well, even if i am a love child (Still HARD Rock Palin).....i did manage to hold back my registration anxiety long enough to get to the right page to register and THANK GOD it only took less than a minute to get my activation email.

whew.

this site is a bit like vegas - but i will manage to get past the bells and whistles and find the nuggets of truth and wisdom.  obviously someone has been hard at work.  thank you sincerely.

oklahoma is an interesting place - small pond - plenty of homegrown scandal and mischief - also many fantastic, engaged folks - not too much crime - lots of sunshine when it is not storming to beat hell.

bit about me - self employed engineer that spends an incredible amount of time on the internet when i am not driving.  mostly i google various and sundry corporations and shenanigans to inform my client base.  pretty crazy when you consider that we were using a mainframe and fortran in college when i graduated.

i would classify myself as an assistant to community organizers - i like to muck around in the big old internet looking for the raw materials of what can be eventually pooled together to give a more truthful picture of corporate behavior.

i found mudflats the first day while googling ANWR and the gas pipeline.  not sure how that got me to the flats - but when i did land here i read a couple of weeks of posts prior to P-Day and really liked the energy and humor of the author.  from here i have found so many other blogs and resources that frankly i would never have bothered to read that it is rather life-changing.

this is my first blog that i have ever read with any seriousness.  and the first i have ever committed to posting on or read the comments for that matter.

i am CHANGED - and it feels great.  later - still HARD rock palin

Cheesy Hey right back at you! I can totally relate to the anxieties of registering here!   This is also my first real time being actively involved in a blog. I think it's the seriousness of the situation that has forced me to overcome a few fears I have.  I am in northeastern Oklahoma and things are pretty quiet here for being so red.  I just wanted to say hey, it's nice to see ya!  amy

oklahoma is indeed a very interesting place.

for a place with not a lot of diversity and a bunch "yellow dog democrats," I think this election has sent a lot of folks into a tailspin.

oh and let's not forget our bible belt location to add to the drama.

my response:  now now -- you have an exciting election with Rice versus crazy coot Inhoff.........that is one of the most important senate races going on........and depending how far you are from Tulsa - it may be worth the drive to meet up with the democrats in that town.

btw - did you hear that Drew Edmonson was considering the governor's race?  very exciting.

and shout out to the yellowdogdemocrat post elsewhere.....i read that message board too.

oh and at the state fair the Obama booth was all out of stickers, shirts, and buttons..........but the McCain booth had gobs unsold and they had the nastiest buttons

for example:  "happiness is seeing cindy sheehan's face on a milk carton"

i kid you not - still HARD rock Palin
