Hello fellow Mudpuppies! Checking in from Belgium here - like many of you, I discovered Mudflats the day the Republican VP pick was announced, and have been hooked ever since. I'm a translator and am quite interested in international affairs, and am following the US elections closely because the US has such a significant impact on the rest of the world.

One bit of trivia here - in a local free paper, in an ad recruiting telemarketers and sales reps, a photo of Obama was used, with the slogan "Passionnement candidat?" (literally, "a passionate candidate?" - in French, the word "candidat" can mean a candidate for an election and an applicant). I found it quite amusing!
