Poll: “Alaskans want Sarah Palin to Run,” Alaskans: UM, NO.

watermarked-SarahPalinFanLook-1

A fan look adoringly at Sarah Palin while at a rally in Wasilla.

Another week, another set of polls concerning the Alaska Senate race. Last week PPP polled Sen. Begich, this week it’s a poll on the Republican primary ticket… and it’s a bit surprising.

Sarah Palin wins the Republican Senate nomination.

For those outside of Alaska you might be thinking, “duh… of course.” But for those in the state it’s common knowledge that not too many people are a huge fans Palin, who has come to be known as “the quitter” or the “half-term governor.” In fact she’s so disliked here that according to a PPP poll in February she would lose to Hillary Clinton. Yes. Hillary Clinton. In fact she’s less liked than Congress by poll respondents in the state of Alaska. (link) Of the over 1300 people polled 45% were Republican, and 36% Democrat.

No wonder she spends most of her time in Arizona now.

The poll in question though says that when put in a primary against Mead Treadwell and Joe Miller – she’d win with a small plurality. Breitbart.com reports “The survey of 379 likely Republican voters found that 32 percent support Palin, whereas 30 percent support Treadwell and 14 percent support Miller.”

The poll conducted by Harper Polling, commissioned by the Tea Party Leadership Fund also found that “43 percent thought Palin would be the “strongest person to take on liberal Democrats in Washington,” whereas 27 percent thought that of Treadwell and 13 percent of Miller.”

The Tea Party Leadership Fund is the PAC that has been promoting the ‘Draft Palin’ petition for Palin to run against Sen. Mark Begich as Jeanne Devon wrote previously for TheMudflats:

This message, sent to a select group of Tea Party Leadership Fund email subscribers leads off with a subject line that asks:

Do the words “Senator Sarah Palin” excite you?

Let’s pause for a moment, and look something up.

ex·cite [ik-sahyt]
verb (used with object), ex·cit·ed, ex·cit·ing.
1. to arouse or stir up the emotions or feelings of: to excite a person to anger; actions that excited his father’s wrath.
2. to arouse or stir up (emotions or feelings): to excite jealousy or hatred.
3. to cause; awaken: to excite interest or curiosity.
4. to stir to action; provoke or stir up: to excite a dog by baiting him.
5. Physiology . to stimulate: to excite a nerve.

Well, Mr. Todd Ceraratti of the Tea Party Leadership Fund (TPLF), the answer is yes. Yes, I am very excited by the thought of “Senator Sarah Palin.”  My excitement runneth over. Number 4, in particular, comes to mind – me being the dog.

Well, given how little time senators actually spend on the job, she’s a natural.

But I certainly hope she doesn’t win (and she wouldn’t even by my representative).

Gotta share this with my mudpup buddies! Last fall, a friend bet me a bottle of wine that Romney would beat Obama, and that we wold settle up when he returned from spending the winter in Florida. Last week he returned, and true to his word, he ponied up – very publicly – in a restaurant we all meet at for brunch after church. As he produced his bottle, there was a burst of laughter, guffaws and good natured groans and whistles. George had removed the original label, and replaced it with a “Palin 2016” label. (Did I mention that I am the only non-Republican in this bunch?) It was all in good fun, because this guy knows how much I can’t stand the woman, and, frankly, he feels the same.

Jeez, I can’t wait for her to spiel off about the current IRS thingy, especially since they are investigating her!

    Happy Spring, all!

  3. Carol says:

had to do the math. Polling 1300 people, 45% R and 32% of those wanted the half term (half wit?) quitty pants on fire EX gov. works out to about 187 people out of 1300. If I had the right numbers, so is she in the lead? Gods, NO.

  4. Zyxomma says:

Groan. I can’t believe she’d move back to AK, even for a Senate run. “How you gon’ keep her down on the farm, now that she’s seen Paree?”

  5. GoI3ig says:

Before she decides to run, she’ll have to find out exactly what it is that a Senator does. Kind of like learning about the V.P. thing.

  6. Ripe Tomato says:

Let her run…I will ask those “pesky questions” she resigned over…like where is that birthright trust account?
Gosh honey runner…looks like those attempts to position Sean as governor again and you as Senator?
The matter has gone to the international courts now…you can thank England for that…and to think you gave them 500 million and said “that is all i got” lol…well it’s not all I got and those lamestream media will want to see what I have…you know…documents…evidence…DNA…head tilt…hows that gonna work out for ya now?

  7. John says:

Want her to run for the entertainment value, but I know in my heart I am just being selfish. But it would be intresting to see her answer ths question, “so, what HAVE you read since 2008?”

  8. wallflower says:

Oh, don’t tell me that the lamestream media is going to insist that she actually LIVE in Alaska in order to run for Senate in Alaska. That is so very unfair.

  9. slipstream says:

    Run for senator from Alaska?

Wouldn’t she have to move to Alaska first?

  10. What’s the point…..? She’ll just quit halfway through her term…to market herself for more money….AGAIN……. and again….and again….and again…

  11. hedgewytch says:

She’ll want to believe that poll – oh yes she does! And as the narcissist that she is, she’s gonna want to take advantage of all that adulation. But work? Actually have to do something – like understand policy and talk to real reporters? – um, not gonna happen. For one thing, she’s so unstable now that her handlers aren’t going to let her off her short leash at all. And for another, can’t have any unsavory subjects be brought back under the hot light of media scrutiny. Nope, not gonna happen. But you know its just gotta be making her crazy (even more)!

    • Beaglemom says:

My immediate thought: Sarah Palin would actually have to do some work. And be in Washington – a lot of the time. Then I thought of the GOP senators – they don’t do much work, show up for photo ops and, in McCain and Graham’s case, appear on television every Sunday, and always vote “no.”

  12. Winski says:

    THIS is all you need to know… IT’S Breitbart.com !!!! HAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…..

The likelihood that they have a single, I’m talking about something the size of an atom, single clue about polling data, what it means, where it came from or finding someone that does know how to interpret the data, is so small that it can’t be measured on the world’s most powerful electron microscope..

    These people are CLUE-FREE… TROGLODYTES…. Moronus Gigantus…

    HAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. mike from iowa says:

Change the word excite to arousing prurient interest in rwnj and Snookie gets a called first strike towards being obscene. Has no serious literary or artistic value is an easy strike two. Violates contemperary community standards and You could tell Snookie to hit the showers except for all the nutters who would be willing to pay to watch. Don’t want her to make more money by exploiting herself, that is what ladies of the night do so well(so I hear). and honorably. SS would rilly cheapen the process. If 32% of 379 like rw voters vote for YKW,that would barely be a hundred votes. Surely enough Alaskans would vote for a Dem so he/she could win by at least one vote. I got faith in you to do the right thing next election.

  14. Alaska Pi says:
