Your assignment?
1) Find a piece of paper and write “I [heart] Mudflats”

Why cereal? Eric Boehlert mentions my September cereal habit in the book. It was quick, easy, and I could eat it while blogging. So I thought a cereal shot would be fun.
I’ll announce the winner later tonight. And even if you don’t think you’re first, send one anyway. It might be fun to make a cereal photo gallery if I get enough entries.

I know I’m WAY late to this thread (it was nice out all weekend so we were working in the garden and then hosting Pittsburghian Mudpups who came to visit), but I just have to say a few things:
1) GREAT visuals (CO almost native–I hope you’re okay), and
2) Terpsichore–And I thought WE were the only home still left in America shooting film! (And we don’t have a cell phone either!)
Maybe you could have another contest with the same picture requirements, but within a given time period, maybe two weeks.
It would be of the picture of a person holding the I heart Mudflats sign.
The person wins whose picture’s background shows them in a famous place the farthest away in the world from Mudflats. Like in front of the Taj Mahal.
Maybe it should only be a week so that too many people don’t have time to Photoshop themselves and their signs on top of the Wall in China.

Yep…I have a cell phone but I am with Sprint, and you just can’t “email” a photo. It goes through some crazy service which you are unable to download it to your library (I have a Mac and it just doesn’t work).

Me, I don’t have any cereal or milk. I thought of taking a picture of a bowl of strawberries with whipped cream and a glass of lemonade, or maybe saltine crackers with a bowl of chili and a mug of hot tea, but decided they were too much work.
I think we all need to go on a group shopping trip. None of us have food in the house. 🙂

The gov and gov lite photos are “official portraits” and just after AKM noticed the weird photo rights, it was back to normal on the state web page. State dollars pd for those photos (you and me). Use them to your heart’s delight!
I’m sure that all the lawyers and such who weighed in on that post changed the mind of the Palin moron herself, or one of her minions, who were trying to restrict the photo rights. She just loves the preemptive strike too much – it always bites her in the butt. Not real bright, that one!

I am ok. Doggie decided I was not mad at her and is back to being my BFF. Husband will reside in dog house until further notice. (Revenge is sweet, especially since he is a lousy cook.)

I am loving/laughing at everyones attempt to get a photo of something that seems so simple. I bet AKM is greatful she didn’t have to survive on some of our concoctions! They are great though! Thanks for living on cereal AKM!
Someone sent me an email with a head shot of Palin with a Milk Mustache about nine months ago with a caption that said “MMMMMM……Sweet Government Subsidies…..it does my Valley Buddies Good!” I took the photo with my bowl of cereal and then realized the photo is the “official Portrait” and it is now a no-no to use it without permission. Well, I reconsidered and I am not sending that photo. YIKES. So sorry…it really is a HOOT! You will have to just imagine it in your heads! ;0) Good luck to the winner of this contest! It was fun!

Ok, I give up. Found box of cereal- can’t have most, as wheat is a no-no for me- got out a bowl…doggie has trained herself to come into the kitchen at night, when she hears a bowl placed on the counter as it means ICE CREAM, courtesy my husband (nightly habit). Told her no, it’s cereal for Mudflats–didn’t matter, she drooled on the floor anyway. Forgot about the drool…slipped on the mess as I was getting the camera set up. Crashed on the floor, narrowly missing cracking my head on the granite counter. Said many bad words, doggie ran for the back door, husband bent over laughing, insteading of helping me up.
He can eat cereal all day tomorrow, for all I care. Looking forward to seeing everyone else’s pictures–I need a beer.

Oh boy! I can’t wait to see who wins. I’m sure it will be a good one! I, like some of the rest of you, have no cereal and my camera is loaned at to my son at the moment, sooooooo I send you a virtual picture of my colorful “I Heart Mudflats! sign placed next to a yellow bowl full of Coco Crispies (my fave), some milk and a spoon……all placed strategically next to my Mac, mouse and keyboard. Only “cereal” I could find around here was dry COB (corn, oats, barley) stolen from the horses feed barrel. Then seeking white liquid, I found some old paint in the garage. At that point, it was better not to even try, lol.
Soooo… the email bounced back. But that’s okay… if the book ever gets down these parts, I’m gonna get pennsyltuckians to autograph it and then it’s gonna get shipped to Ms. Palin. Think she knows how to read a book yet?
I knew I wasn’t going to be able to join this party – I’ve got the requisite cereal (High Fiber) but, like many, no milk. But even worse … NO CAMERA! Yeah. Pathetic, isn’t it? Husband has one of those old fashioned kind with something called…let’s see …what was it? Oh yes … FILM! We get pictures on disk when we have them “developed”. ‘Tis quaint.
Actually, this year for our birthdays, that’s what we decided to get. His is the 31st and mine is 6/17 (yeah, two Geminis. You know what they say – when two Geminis go out, the four of them have a wonderful time). SO we’re going to buy us a new digital camera for our birthdays. Love it, ’cause I’m a very lame gift-giver actually and it takes the pressure off me to come up with something.

As it is, Daphne (my tortie) was somewhat miffed because the cereal/bowl/milk/sign temporarily usurped her spot to the left of the Macbook on the kitchen table.
I am at least temporarily forgiven. Her head is resting on my left wrist while she grabs her 10th nap of the day. At least she’s backed off enough to let me hit the shift key.
