“Thus, Enbridge received close to 2,000 Nationwide Permit 12’s – all “single and complete projects” – despite the fact it is one single pipeline running from north central Illinois to Cushing, OK.”

This is at the heart of the problem, and it’s a stinker. Judge Jackson is, IMHO, a corporate whore. Nowhere has President Obama been more of a disappointment than on environmental issues, whether drilling, fracking, this m*th#rf^ck!ng pipeline, or GMO and its runoff (water’s full of glyphosate, friends).

Btw, pipelines carrying bitumen ALWAYS rupture, fracture, or otherwise leak this sh!t onto/into the land and water. It’s the nature of bitumen, which is highly corrosive. Technology to pipe this junk safely simply doesn’t exist, or, if it does, would cost so much that it will never be used. I’m enraged and outraged, and you should be, too.

Interesting, not surprising article. Help may be on the way. http://tinyurl.com/muudbce
Posted this earlier. Rethugs and the DC circuit have stopped financial regulation of Wall Street and both have worked to stop work on climate change. A slight change in the DC Circuit Court could move a lot of regulatory actions along.
