Palast Biggest Expose Ever – 3.6 million voters Threatened With Purge.

Three million threatened in purge of voter rolls
The removals, which target minority voters, were begun in secret in the battleground state of Georgia

Atlanta, Georgia

A six-month-long nationwide investigation by Al Jazeera America has discovered that voting officials in 27 states, almost all of them Republicans, have launched what is threatening to become a massive purge of black, Hispanic and Asian-American voters. Already, tens of thousands have been removed from voter rolls in battleground states, and the numbers are set to climb.

The full story will be released Wednesday morning on America.AlJazeera.com.

    Shout-out from Charles Pierce:

Greg Palast is one of those inconveniently stubborn journalists — much like Glenn Greenwald and the late Gary Webb — who gets his teeth into a story and shakes it bloody right there in the middle of the parlor, dreadfully inconveniencing the pampered swells of the elite political press, and revolting the serious thinkers who get to go on PBS and moan about the genuine crisis of American political civility.

I’ve been voting since 1972, when I turned 18 in time for the first vote by 18-year-olds. This was very personal for me; I’d carried petitions door-to-door to get the legislation for us to get the vote. I carry my voter registration card in my wallet. It has no picture. I usually don’t even have to show it, although I’ve been asked once or twice. This IS the scariest thing ever. Why do Republicans work so hard to make us hate them?

  3. John says:

They want everyone to have a government ID. We could stop this by having Obama introduce legislation requiring states to issue IDs.
