NYTimes – How Will Supreme Court Work? First, See How Congress Works

The prospect of the Supreme Court’s sitting for a year or even longer at less than full strength means the partisan warfare that has overtaken Washington could produce a whole new kind of government shutdown — one limiting the court’s ability to fully function.

BBC – The Man Who Could Stop Planes

For three trying days I had been traversing Africa, trying to get from Niger to Kenya. The bulk of my time had been spent dealing with sour officials, hopelessly battling malarial mosquitoes and sitting wretchedly in filthy, stinking-hot airports. I had come from three tough but rewarding weeks in the Sahara, and the great beauty and monstrous insouciance of the desert had left me with a feeling of serene detachment.

Wingnuts hate Maya Angelou because she was a commie sympathizer at one time.

Haven’t heard a peep out of Sinator defect Dan Sullivan. Did he,by chance, move back to Ohio and not tell anyone?

Donald “KKK” Trump desecrated MLK and other civil rights leader’s legacies by claiming to have done more for equality than anyone. His contribution to equality- his fancy gentleman’s club in Palm Beach,Florida Mar a Lago Club accepts Blacks and Jews. First, one must have $100000 membership. Then there is the little matter of $14000 yearly dues as well as a thousand bucks per night to stay there. Everyone, except Muslims, are welcome if you are filthy rich.
