The Wall Comes to Virginia: Protests at Trump’s Regent University Rally

On Saturday in Virginia Beach, Virginia I spoke with Susan Mariner outside of Donald Trump’s Regent University rally. She was joined with several other women clad in white brick painted jump suits that had some interesting words on them then. Watch the video below to find out just why she’s wearing “Disgusting Animal” on her chest.

OWS – 5 Years Ago Something Big Started

Five years on and what has changed? Some might say nothing. We still have candidates of the 1% – this time one of them proudly running as the king of the Billionaires, the other just your standard SuperPAC funded politico. Transparency in government and in the business world sure as hell hasn’t gotten any better. Wells Fargo defrauds thousands and no one gets in trouble, Clinton runs a private e-mail server to avoid FOIA laws and transparency and she just gets a scolding. But what did we expect? Did we ever dream that OWS would have changed all that? A…

Lee Camp, host of RT’s Redacted Tonight and resident Palast Investigative Fund humorist was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the Democracy Spring protests in Washington DC. Beaten and Arrested Occupier Facing 7 Years

Occupier Cecily McMillan who was found guilty of striking a NYC Police Officer is looking at 7 years in jail. Many of the jurors have signed onto a plea to the judge for her to just receive community service – claiming that they had no idea that their sentence of guilty on felony assault charges would mean such a lengthy sentence. The jurors criminal ignorance aside – many of her fellow Occupiers, lawyers and citizens have called for leniency from the judge. Sentencing for Cecily will be held Monday the 19th.

I’m back from Ukraine and I have many photos. I’ll be posting more as editing time allows. Until then, enjoy the relative calm in Eastern Europe with this peaceful moment on the barricades of Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square).

50,000 at Forward On Climate Rally in DC

This photo-essay was originally published in Truth-Out.org by Zach D Roberts, The Mudflats New York Bureau Chief A reported 50,000 people attended the 350/Sierra Club rally yesterday in Washington DC – making it the largest environmental march in decades. There were also dozens of smaller rallies across the country, including in Los Angeles, San Diego and St. Louis. The action in DC drew in people from around the country – Jim and Bonnie, full-time climate activists both took the train from Portland, Oregon. They held a sign that called on the President to be true to his own words “We…
